"I would like to express our deepest gratitude for your donation of blankets. We host 80 abandoned and abused children (0 to 18 years old), in 10 modest little wooden houses. We hope to deliver the rest of your donation to a day-care center "Casa Nido"... in the community of Las Turbinas, in Lo Espejo... (which) is nothing more than a group of lean-to shacks with no floor, no electricity, and no water. 300 families live there in extreme poverty. Diseases and illnesses are prevalent all year due to exremes in temperature and lack of sanitation. Casa Nido is one of the few refuges for children and babies who live there in exreme poverty. Again, thanks so much for your contribution."
